Both prints annotated in pencil on verso, one print annotated Man Ray in pencil and with the photographer's studio stamp and one with A.D.A.G.P. Paris stamp, both with Tirage original réalisé par Pierre Gassmann stamp and Foto von einem Fotogramm stamp on the verso .

Man Ray's rayographs involved placing objects directly onto photosensitive paper and exposing them to light, resulting in ethereal and often abstract compositions. This technique allowed him to explore the interplay of light and shadow, shape and form, in a way that challenged conventional photography. Offered here are two photographs of Man Ray's photograms made by Pierre Gassmann. The original prints of these works are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. – Minimal buckling along edges of prints, a few handling marks, otherwise in excellent condition.

Auflage nach Man Rays Objekt von 1921, auf der Oberseite des Griffes bezeichnet und betitelt. Herausgegeben von Luciano Anselmino, Turin, hergestellt von Giorgio Barutti, gegossen bei der Fonderie di Mirano, Venedig. Mit dem numerierten Zertifikat des Herausgebers. Das Objekt "Cadeau" ist wohl eines der besten Beispiele für den zweischneidigen Humor Man Rays. "Bei der Eröffnung seiner ersten Einzelausstellung in Paris lernte Man Ray 1921 in der Galerie Six den Komponisten Erik Satie kennen und schuf im Anschluss an diese Begegnung das Objekt 'Cadeau / Geschenk'. Die erotische und zugleich Gewalt assoziierende Dimension des Bügeleisens andeutend, an dessen Unterseiten sich Nägel befinden, sagte Man Ray: 'Man kann damit ein Kleid in Fetzen reißen'."
