David Armstrong was an American photographer best known for his intimate, emotionally resonant portraiture. Emerging in the late 1970s alongside his close friend Nan Goldin and the Boston School of photography, he developed a signature style marked by natural light, shallow depth of field, and a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.
