Male nude embraced. Early 1950s. Vintage gelatin silver print, hinge-mounted in upper edge in mat. 25,5 x 20,5 cm. With the photographer's studio stamp and "Collection of John Edward Rollins" stamp, as well as annotated by another hand in pencil on the verso.

George Platt Lynes was a pioneering figure in mid-20th-century photography, known for his highly stylized portraits, fashion images, and male nudes. Merging surrealist aesthetics with classical references and meticulous lighting, his work evokes a dreamlike sensuality and psychological depth.
